Tenerife is the largest and most populous island of the seven Canary Islands. About five million tourists visit Tenerife each year, the most of any of the Canary Islands. It is also one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain.
In 2001 I visited Tenerife. During that holiday I visited the Teide National Park and Loro Parque Zoo. Quality of the photos is not that high, they were made with an Olympus C-860L 1.3Mpixel camera with no zoom or whatsoever. Things have changed since then. 🙂
Loro Parque (‘parrot park’) is a zoo located on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife where it houses an extensive and diverse reserve of animal and plant species. The park was initially conceived as a paradise for parrots and has developed over the years into one of the biggest attractions of the Canary Islands.
The Teide National Park in the center of the island is centered around the third largest volcano in the world from, Teide.
