Mensinge is a ‘havezate’ (a fortified house, castle) near Roden in the province of Drenthe, the Netherlands. The house was inhabited privately until 1985. To the havezate belongs a large forest, the Mensinge forest.
The Mensinge forest is an alternate forest area consisting of mixed forests as well as pieces of production forest with mainly coniferous trees. There are also the remains of moorland and the forest includes a number of lakes.
Below a small selection of photos taken during a visit to the forest at the beginning of autumn when mushrooms where all around the forest. Click on a thumbnail for a larger, navigate with the left / right arrows of the photo or use the arrow keys on the keyboard.
