Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India.
It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Fort stands on an ancient site and was traditionally known as Badalgarh. The Red Fort is known by that name because of the red stone from which it is built. The Red Fort is one of the main touristic attractions in Agra.
