The National Stadium (国家体育场), a.k.a. the Bird’s Nest (鸟巢), is a stadium at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The National Stadium, covering an area of 204.000 square meters with an 80.000 person capacity, officially started construction in March 2004, and was completed in June 2008. The stadium was designed for the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.
