Balloon Fiesta Meerstad was a hot air balloon festival which was held near Meerstad, Groningen. The event was held for the sixth time on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Among the balloons, from both home and abroad, were a number of new ones, the so-called ‘special shapes’. After the flights, the balloons returned for a special ‘nightglow’. The balloons functioned as large lanterns that lit up to the beat of the music.
