The Fraeylemaborg is a Groningen borg and museum in the village of Slochteren. The borg is located in an approximately 31 hectare estate, mainly dating from the 19th century. The Baroque park forest changed to the romantic English landscape style at the beginning of the 19th century. The treasure house is located on the forecourt, and on the other side is the coach house with horse stable and orangery.
The management of the estate is carried out by the Fraeylemaborg Landgoed Foundation, in which the province of Groningen and the Gerrit van Houten Foundation participate. The building houses the Fraeylemaborg museum estate. Historical research in 2004 showed that the current borg must have been built before 1300 as a stone house or stins, a fortified house next to a gentleman’s farm.
