The first edtion of the Sand Sculpture Festival Blauwestad took place from july 28 till august 31 2014. For the Sand Sculpture Festival Blauwestad, in about 2 weeks more than 300.000 kilos of sand were transformed into sand sculptures . The impressive works of art were created by professional sand artists from home and abroad. The largest sand castle in the Netherlands, which was no less than 7 meters high, could be seen here.
